Coin Strike: a tiny arcade that earned a permanent home screen spot
I didn't expect much from Coin Strike. The concept is almost old-fashioned: flick a coin, hit a target, clear the board. But something about the way it handles kept me playing well past the point I meant to stop.
The physics are the heart of it. Coins behave the way you expect metal discs to behave, which means skilled shots feel earned. By the time I reached the boards with moving barriers, I was deliberately banking coins off the walls to reach targets I couldn't hit head-on. That moment when a tricky combo finally lands is pure satisfaction.
A quick tip from my playthrough: don't go for raw power on tight boards. Softer, angled flicks give you far more control, and chaining gentle taps often clears a level faster than one big swing. I wasted a lot of tries learning that the hard way.
The thing that sold me, though, is that Coin Strike runs entirely offline. I played it on a train through a dead zone and never hit a stutter. It's the ideal game for a few free minutes, and it never guilts you into longer sessions.
If you want a clean, physics-driven arcade game with no fluff, this one is worth your time.
